What do I do if the book or article I need is not available at EWU?

Answer

  • Summit Request - Summit is a partnership of academic libraries in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho whose collections can all be searched at once from the EWU library catalog. When you find a record for an item held by Summit libraries, sign in to request. An email is sent when your item is ready for pickup (4-8 day delivery). Not all Summit libraries may be lending materials currently due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Interlibrary Loan - If you cannot find a book in the library catalog, then make an Interlibrary Loan Request (7-10 day delivery) from our Interlibrary Loan guide. [https://research.ewu.edu/ill]
  • If an article or book chapter is not available full text in library databases you may request it using Interlibrary Loan. You will be notified via your EWU email that the article is available for you to download.
  • Patrons may also use our "request a scan" service for electronic copies of articles or book chapters available in print in EWU Libraries.
