How do I get my textbooks?

Answer

Students can look up what textbooks are required for their courses, and purchase them, on the Bookstore's website.

If your faculty member has chosen to place a copy of your textbook in the Library, it will be on Course Reserve. Most Course Reserve textbooks cannot leave the library, but can be checked out for in-library use for 2-4 hours (faculty set the loan period for their textbooks). Course Reserves are first-come, first-served and cannot be reserved ahead of time. These policies allow the maximum number of students to have access to Course Reserve textbooks. You can search for your textbook to see if it is on Course Reserve.

What to do if you can't buy your book right away or you're waiting for your book to arrive:

If you do not have your required textbook when the quarter begins, it is always a good idea to message your instructor to let them know your situation. They may have suggestions or solutions to assist you until you are able to get a book.

If you would like help exploring options for accessing your textbooks, please submit a question including the titles of the books you are looking for (or your course information if you don't know the book titles) and a librarian will get back to you.
