How do I watch Kanopy Streaming Films?
Answer
Kanopy is a streaming media service offering thousands of indie, international, art house, and documentary films. You may be assigned to watch a Kanopy film by your instructor, or you may wish to use Kanopy for research.
Unlike our other library databases, Kanopy requires the extra step of creating an account before you can use it.
To access Kanopy, follow these steps:
- Use the link on the databases page (or the links in this FAQ).
- If you are off-campus, you will be prompted to log in with your Triton ID and password. If you haven't set up your Triton ID or if you get an incorrect password error, please review these troubleshooting steps.
- Click the orange VISIT THE EDCC COLLECTION button.
- Make an account: On the next screen, choose the Google or Facebook account options, or create your own account using any email address.
- If you have already created a Kanopy account, click Log In to access.
Please note: Kanopy cannot be watched on a mobile browser. If you want to watch on a mobile device, you must download the Kanopy app from the App Store or Google Play store. If you don't want to do that, you can check out a Chromebook from the library or watch Kanopy films on library computers.
