UpToDate library database: Instructions and tips
Have questions about the library database, UpToDate? Getting frequent pop-ups? Want to use it optimally on your device?

To optimally use this database, it's best to visit an SCC campus in order to:
- Login for the first time to UpToDate while on an SCC campus.
- Register for an UpToDate account which you can use to sign-in from off-campus for 90 days.
- Visit an SCC campus every 90 days to re-verify your UpToDate registration.
- Optional: Download the UpToDate app to your mobile device while on campus.
Instructions for registering with UpToDate to create your customized sign-in

Visit the SCC library homepage

Click Databases A-Z

Click UpToDate

Login using your Bigfoot (SCC) username and password (Get help if you don't know your Bigfoot login.)

Once you're logged in, Register with UpToDate. You only need to register once. When you register, you create an UpToDate username and password which you can use to sign-in the from off-campus by going directly to the UpToDate website.

Login from a laptop/browser: Go directly to the UpToDate login page, and use your UpToDate credentials to sign in.

Suggested: Download the UpToDate app to your mobile device.

Note about re-verification every 90 days: To avoid issues, your registration needs to be periodically re-verified. Do this by logging-in to the SCC Library's UpToDate link while you are on an SCC campus computer. Re-verification needs to take place every 90 days.
To prevent pop-ups from occurring in UpToDate
Once you have registered with UpToDate, you can sign-in directly to the UpToDate website. This should prevent popups.

If you cannot visit an SCC campus to register or re-verify your UpToDate registration:
Contact and SCC librarian. They will create a registration sign-in for you and/or use your sign-in credentials to re-verify your registration.
