How long can I borrow library items for?

Loan periods for library materials vary by item type. See the table below:

 

Loan Periods and Renewals

REFERENCE & SPECIAL  COLLECTION BOOKS No checkouts No renewals  Library use only
 DVDs 3 weeks 2 Renews automatically unless the item is  requested by another library user
 REFERENCE DVDs Students: 4hrs, library use only
Faculty: 3 weeks
no renewals  
 MAGAZINES & JOURNALS 3 weeks 2 Renews automatically unless the item is requested by another library user
COURSE RESERVES  (TEXTBOOKS) Varies (1hr, 2hr, 4hr, 1-day, 3-day, 1 week) no renewals Course reserves do not renew. Loan periods vary by title. Some course reserves are for in-library use only.
EQUIPMENT (CHROMEBOOKS, HOTSPOTS, HEADSETS) Quarter long Unlimited* Equipment will automatically renew as long as a student is enrolled in classes the following quarter.

 

*Equipment will renew automatically for up to 3 years or until the borrower is no longer enrolled in classes.
