Lost/damaged books: Replacement cost plus $25. The replacement cost and the $25 fee will be waived if the patron provides a new or nearly new replacement of the lost or damaged item. Note: A book is considered "lost" if not returned 3 weeks after the end of its last renewal.
Lost/damaged equipment: We understand each student's situation is different and will work with you to resolve any issues.
- Stolen – Seattle Colleges will provide a replacement with proof that a police report has been filed.
- Damaged – Seattle Colleges will provide a replacement when the damaged item is returned, depending on available supplies.
- Lost – Seattle Colleges will provide 1 replacement for each type of equipment, depending on available supplies. Seattle Colleges can only replace lost equipment one time. Individuals who lose the same type of equipment twice will not be permitted to borrow the same type of equipment again.
Remote Deactivation: Any Chromebook or Hotspot equipment considered to be “lost” or “stolen” will be deactivated remotely.
