Q. How do I get a free online subscription to New York Times through the library?

Students, faculty, and staff – anybody with a valid SPSCC email address can sign up for a New York Times online subscription. Just follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to SPSCC Library's Find Databases page.

  2. Scroll down the Databases by Subject list and click on the section for Newspapers. Choose the NYTimes.com database and use your SPSCC email address to create a new NYT account.

NOTE: the NYT account is not linked to your SPSCC email account. Remember whatever password you use for NYT because it won’t be the same as your SPSCC email account’s password when you need to change it.

  3. Log into your SPSCC email and click on the confirmation link that NYT sent to you after you created your new NYT account.

IMPORTANT! You must click on the confirmation link in order to complete the process to set up your new NYT account. If you miss this final step, your account will not be created and you will not be able to access articles on NYTimes.com.

If you want a step-by-step visual guide, then go to the How to Subscribe to NYT Tutorial.
